Dear all,

Highlights of last week

Thank you so much to the parents who helped us work on the garden last weekend: delivering logs; reweaving the willow tunnel; raking and sweeping; and, designing a new outdoor structure for Forest School.children in forest school shelter

Meanwhile at school it was our last week with our students Zoe and Sarah. Your children have really loved having them with us for the last five weeks. Everyone got involved with mixing potions; children also explored directions with the Beebots and experimented with magnetic forces. On Forest School Friday we made fruit pies for a goodbye party and sang our goodbye song, outside with hot chocolate.

We also really enjoyed having the opportunity to talk about your children with you during our parent-teacher consultations this week. If you have missed the chance to do this. We still have three weeks before Christmas and are happy to fit in appointments at other times when we can. We welcome your feedback, so please take a moment to write down your thoughts and return your feedback forms.

Poetry Basket

Look out for the poem of the week on the board in the corridor outside Nursery School. We are teaching the children to recite and chant a new one each week and copies of these for you to collect, will be available for a small donation, by the door.

Information and Requests

Please forgive the quantity below, but it is all important to communicate to you!!

We really appreciate all your support and one of the most helpful and easy ways to do this is to be punctual. If you are late, our routine is interrupted, and our attention is taken away from teaching and learning. So, thank you for being on time to bring and collect your children from school. It matters to us.

If you wouldn’t mind, please do not leave snacks, fruit shoots etc in your child’s bag and encourage all toys to be left at home (comforters are an exception). We provide lots of food and drink and cooking opportunities at school. So, instead please encourage your child to feel positive about contributing fruit, crackers or cooking ingredients to a communal snack.

If you have sweets for your children at the end of a session, we would like to ask you to please wait until you have left the school to get them out. This will help children who don’t have sweets in their diet. In school

we try to follow healthy eating principles whenever we can.

Finally, if you need to change your lunch club sessions, please remember you are required to give a month’s advance notice for administration reasons.
